Microsoft will not be ringing much cash...
might end up like the saturn, or dreamcast... just gonna last for year
as the saturn and dreamcast were great... this new xbox will be seen as the 32x |

I can understand why they're doing it and sympathize it.
DRM is a means to protect their content.
Can't blame a company for trying to stop people from pirating their games and stealing it.
In a perfect world, people should be paying for content.
Unless there is a better way to ensure content is purchased and paid for the online only is currently the only means to protect said content.
Anybody have a better idea for protecting content? |

that hard to think off, but needed the internet 24/7
to just play single player like the new sims city or diablo 3,
is kinda harsh...
and what their doing won't stop pirating,
as if theres a will theres a way to by pass all of it,
game hackers and modders know that.

"Will stop functioning if no connection is detected for more than 3 minutes"
I'm just going to sit here and watch Microsoft stock plunge through the floor... |

I do think some games like Diablo 3 and SimCity should have some sort of single player offline play mode.
And if people want the online features they can play online for it.
Like the multiplayer part. Achievements recording. Trading with each other etc. Saving your character on a cloud storage so you can play anywhere. Like a browser game.
There are benefits for being online.
The offline play is useful for when you aren't on the internet but need something to do to pass time while it comes back on again. |

Exactly. But with the DRM, your XBox will become an expensive paperweight while the internet is off. :< |
